Calendar: Discussed calendar in English and Spanish. Mallory put the number on the calendar and discussed the weather. She reviewed pink, circle, A & P, and the sign for touch. We reviewed the days of the week and months of the year in Spanish and English.  We counted to 20 using the number chart in English and Spanish.

Songs:  Sang the morning gathering song, days of the week and months of the year.

Brainstorm/Fun Facts:  Reviewed what they learned about taste.  The children told us what they know about Socks and Shoes.  Discussed:  What do you wear on your feet?  Explained that there are many different types of shoes, socks, boots and sandals.

Visual Art:  Discussed:  What do you see that is brown?  They looked at the color bird and told what color it was.  Each child then looked around the room and told us what they saw that was brown.  Miss Corrie held the bird up as we sang a song to the tune of “Baa, Baa Black Sheep”.  Replaced the brown items with other brown items we saw as we sang the song twice.  Song:  Brown bird, brown bird, What pretty feathers. Yes bird, yes bird, They are brown. Just like the desk, and like the floor, The color of Brogan’s shirt and teddy bear. Brown bird, brown bird, What pretty feathers.

Speaking:  Discussed:  What do you do before you put your shoes on?  What do you do after you put your shoes on?   We looked at the story sequence cards and discussed each picture.  We then discussed what order the pictures should be in.  The pictures  were of a foot with no sock, a foot with a sock and a foot with a shoe.

Visual Art:   Discussed:  What design is on the bottom of your shoe? Children take turns stepping on the sand and making footprints.  They then each came up one at a time to make a stamp of their shoes or bare-feet in the sand.  We looked at all the different prints.

Gross Motor:  We practiced chomping like an alligator with both of our hands.  Each child had to count to the highest they could while they chomped their hands and we wrote the highest number that they could get to on the little person pattern for them to decorate.

Show and Tell:  Each child was to wear brown to school today.  They came up one at a time and found the brown on their clothes.  If they did not have brown then they told us what color they had on.  We counted how many had brown and how many did not. We compared.

Speaking:  Discussed:  How do you know which shoes are yours?  Each child took off one shoe and threw it in the middle in a pile.  We played a song and sang while they walked in a circle and one child at a time found their shoe.
