Calendar:  Discussed calendar in English and Spanish. We wrote the date in English and Spanish.  The children found the day of the week in Spanish.  They reviewed their Spanish and Sign Language words.

Brainstorm/Fun Facts:  Today is the last day of lessons for the summer!  The children told me holidays that  they and their families celebrate.  There are many different kinds of celebrations and holidays around the world.  We discussed all the different types of celebrations people could have.

Music:  Discussed:  What do you like to do when you are celebrating?  Some people like to dance when they are celebrating.  We listened to “Happy and You Know It” and danced to the song.

Visual Art:   Discussed:  Who do you like to be with during a party?  Celebrations are usually a great time for family and friends to get together.   The children will all get to decorate a bear and this can be their friend at a celebration.

Gross Motor:    Discussed:  What is your favorite instrument in a marching band?  I gave each child an instrument and we made our own marching band.  We played the CD and marched around the room playing our instruments.

Social Skills:  Discussed:  What kind of decorations does your family use for celebrations?  Many people like to decorate their homes, tables or themselves when they celebrate or are in a parade. We had 6 kids at a time play the Lotto Game.  Each child picked a Lotto Board.  We went around the circle drawing a lotto card.  If they had a match on their board they placed it on the matching picture. If they did not have a match then they found one of their friends that had the matching picture and gave them the card.  Their friend had to say “Thank you” and then place it on the card.  We played until everyone filled up their Lotto Board.

Tumble Bus Day:   See the Activities they did today by looking at the form by the front door.

Afternoon Centers:  Center 1:  Outside Play  Center 2:  Drawing a picture using markers.
