Calendar:  Discussed calendar in English and Spanish. Samuel discussed the weather and added the number to the calendar.  Samuel told us the day of the week and month of the year in Spanish.  We reviewed our Spanish and Sign language words.  Samuel told us the shape and color.  We counted to 20 in English and Spanish.  The children sang their morning songs.

Creative Development:  Discussed:  What do you know about sharing? How do you think others feel when you share with them?  I gave two children matching heart halves and two other children another color of matching heart halves.  They then had to share their halves with a child that had a different color than they had so that they could make a whole heart.  I showed the children how to weave the hearts to make them one!  This will be difficult for them to do.

Language and Literacy:  Discussed:  When is it hard for you to share?  We looked at the photo cards and discussed the feelings that we saw.  I laid the cards face down and picked one to start telling them a story about sharing.  We would draw another card and continue the silly story using the feelings in our story.

Science:  Discussed:  What do you think happens when you mix colors?  I took red and blue paint and the children predicted what they thought might happen when I mix them together.  I then mixed them and they noticed that red and blue turned to purple.  Discussed how the colors where sharing and made a new color.  Each child took turns taking the purple paint brush and painting something purple in the room.

Mathematics and Reasoning: Discussed:  What do you have that you can share?  The children each got up and got picked out one toy to bring back to lesson area.  We sat in the circle and discussed the item that they brought back and put it in the middle of our circle.  I then played a sharing game.  I asked one child to find me a shape that has a circle and share it with me. I continued asking each child a question to find that specific toy that they could share with me.

Physical Development:   Discussed:  What is your favorite purple thing that you can share? (For example grapes, socks or toys.)  We discussed things they could share and I drew the objects they said on the wipe off board.  This is what they will be doing in their journals in afternoon centers.

Show and Tell:   Each child brought in something that was purple.  They came up one at a time and told us about their item.

Afternoon Centers:  Center 1:  Outside play  Center 2:  My Little Journal-  The children will go to the purple page and color the paint brush purple.  They will then draw a picture of something that  they can share that is purple.  Center 3:  Share a Heart-  The children will weave the two heart pieces together.  Center 3-  The children will mix red and blue together to paint a purple picture.
