Calendar:  Discussed the date in English and Spanish and wrote it in number form.   Mallory put the number on the calendar, discussed the weather and found the day of the week in Spanish.  She reviewed the colors, shapes and Sign Language.

Fun Facts/Brainstorming:  Reviewed what they learned about flowers & blooms.  Discussed: what do you do when you get dirty? We talked about tubs!

Creative Development:  Discussed:  When do you take a bath? We looked at the bathtub art that they will be making in afternoon centers.

Language and Literacy:  Discussed:  What is your favorite toy to take in the tub?  We read the title of the I Can Read Book “Rub-a-dub-dub.”  We discussed the rhyming words.  We read the whole book and discussed all the rhyming words.  The children came up one at a time to circle two words that rhyme.

Science: Discussed:  How does the water change after you take a bath?  Explained that water is clear, but light can make it appear blue.  We thought of other things in nature that are blue.  The children came up one  at a time to take the blue paintbrush and find something blue in the room to paint.

Mathematics and Reasoning:  Discussed:  What is too big to fit in your tub? Where would a whale take a bath?  We have several containers that can fit inside of each other (nesting).  We pretended they were tubs.  We had various sizes of objects also.  I had one child come up and pick the biggest item and put it in the tub he thinks it will best fit in .  We then had another child find the smallest item and find the tub it best fits in.  We continued this until all items were put in the appropriate size of container.

Show and Tell:  All the children wore blue today.  We  had each child stand up and show their blue clothing.  We then counted how many children had blue and how many did not.  We discussed more and less.

Afternoon Centers:  Center 1:Outside play Center 2: Bathtub Art- The children drew a face on the person.  We had them cut out the person and the toys.  They colored their tubs and glued the objects to the tub.  They then dipped bubble wrap into paint and made bubble prints in and around the tub.  We also added stickers to the tub.    Center 3:  I Can Read Book-  The children wrote their names on the book and went through and circled the matching words.
