Calendar:  Discussed the date in English and Spanish and wrote it in number form.  Abby put the number on the calendar, discussed the weather and found the day of the week in Spanish.  We reviewed all our colors, shapes, sight words, Spanish and Sign Language words.

Fun Facts/Brainstorming:  Reviewed what the children learned about farms and Sunrise/Sunset.  Today the children learned about eggs.  Discussed: where could we find an egg.  We discussed the different sizes, shapes and colors of eggs.  We talked about the parts of an egg.  We looked at pictures of eggs.

Science:  Discussed:  What animals do you think are born from eggs?  We used the Theme poster to answer the questions on the Look and Find Glasses.  We picked 4 children sitting the best and quietest to come pick a Look and Find glass and follow the directions.  We found the animals on the poster that came from an egg.

Creative Development:  Discussed:  How could you keep eggs safe?  We looked at the hen and counted her eggs.  We then looked at the craft they will be making in afternoon centers.

Language and Literacy:  Discussed:  What in this room could break?  If it broke, what would you use to put it back together?  We broke an egg in a bowl and discussed what we saw and felt.  We also discussed if we could put the egg back together.  We read the rhyme, “Humpty Dumpty”.  Discussed the words: wall, fall, men, again.  We did the rhyme again and they helped with these key words.

Mathematics and Reasoning:  Discussed: What  color eggs have you seen?  We looked at the triangle foam shapes.  The children told the color and sizes that they saw.  We looked at the brown and red egg cartons. One child at a time came up and picked a foam shape out of the bag without looking.  The child guessed the color that they picked without looking. They then looked at the color to see if they guessed correctly. They put that color foam shape in the same color of egg carton.  We did this so every child had a turn to pick a shape, guess the color and put it with the matching egg carton.

Harper Birthday:  Each child was to bring Harper a birthday card.  We will show these to Harper when she comes back tomorrow and have cake with her on Thursday.

Afternoon Centers:  Center 1:Outside Play Center 2: Nest Art-The children decorated the eggs and cut out the hen.  They then used the materials supplied to build a nest. They also painted the nest brown.
