Calendar:  Discussed the date in English and Spanish and wrote it in number form. Samuel is the new calendar and meteorologist for this week!  He put the numbers on the calendar, discussed the weather and reviewed the pattern.  He found the day of the week in Spanish.  Samuel reviewed the colors, shapes, Spanish, Sign Language and Sight words.

Fun Facts/Brainstorming:  Reviewed what we learned about Office Managers.  Today the children told me what a waiter was.  We discussed their favorite places  to eat.  Fun facts:  Traditionally most waiters were male, but this has changed significantly, leading to the term waitress.  A waiter’s job in a restaurant includes greeting people once they are seated at a table.  The waiter takes orders of guests, informs guests of specials, and answers questions regarding ingredients or preparation methods.  We discussed how much a waiter makes and what tips are.

Language and Literacy: Discussed: What do you like to eat on a burger? We had burger pieces where the children got to build a hamburger using the pieces.  We Then read the participation story, “Cheese Please”.  The children added what they wanted on their Burger by using the picture cards.  After we read the story we discussed and answered questions.  Discussion Questions:  What is missing on the hamburger? (cheese)  Where is cheese made?  (A cow produces milk and we make cheese from milk)  Do you think the child eats the sandwich without the cheese?  Where did the boy take his mom to find cheese? (grocery store but the store had no cheese so they went to a dairy farm)

Afternoon Centers:  Center 1: Legos Center 2: Fill the Order Art- The children took a tray and used a fork to dip into paint and make prints on the tray. The children then cut apart the order cards and decorated the plate.  They looked at the the order card and put their foods in order on the plate.  They then practiced carrying their trays with their plates on it.      Center 3:  My Little Journal- The children went to the orange page.  They drew a circle and turned it into an orange fruit.  They then told us their favorite fruit and drew a picture of that fruit also on the page.
