Calendar:   Discussed the date in English and Spanish.  Stephenye put the number on the calendar, discussed the weather and found the day of the week in Spanish.  She reviewed our sight words, Spanish, Sign language and numbers.

Fun Facts/Brainstorming:  Reviewed what we learned yesterday about the dinosaur tail.  Discussed:  What do you think was on the inside of a dinosaur’s body?  Discussed why bones are important to a dinosaur.

Mathematics and Reasoning: Discussed: How do you think dinosaur bones feel? Dumped the noodles in one big bowl and invited the children to explore them. What do you notice children doing with the different types of noodles? Looked at the Dino Skeletons that they made in afternoon centers.

Language and Literacy:  Discussed:  How do you think different dinosaurs moved? Hold up a dinosaur picture card and invite children to imagine and act out how that dinosaur could have moved. The children pretended to be a baby dinosaur and move through the room. They pretended to be a child dinosaur and run through the room with lots of energy.  They then moved like a adult dinosaur nice and big.

Mathematics and Reasoning:  Discussed: Why do you think paleontologists had to be gentle with the bones that they found? Set out a baking pan and filled it with sand. We hid the puzzle pieces in the sand. The children came up one at a time to uncover a piece with a paint brush to pretend they are paleontologists.  They then worked together to put the puzzle together.  We discussed the picture.

Social Studies: Discussed: What instrument would you like to play and why? Set out the Story Sequence Wands and the Storybook and invited children to compare the pictures in them.  We read the story and discussed while we read.

Afternoon Centers:   Center 1-  Variety of toys
